Brookfield, Ill. (December 4, 2020) — This holiday season, shop for the purr-fect present without having to leave home. The Chicago Zoological Society’s Animal Adoption program is highlighting two featured creatures: Brookfield Zoo’s snow leopard and Amur leopard cubs, both born earlier this year. Donations to the program are gifts that give twice—helping to provide expert care and feeding of an animal for one year as well as giving a thoughtful and unique present to a loved one.
Adoption packages for Ahava, the zoo’s 6-month-old snow leopard, and Sasha, a 9-month-old Amur leopard, range in price from $35 to $120. The Basic Package for $35 includes a 5-inch by 7-inch color photo of either cat, a personalized certificate, a species fact sheet, an Animal Adoption decal, and an invitation to the Animal Adoption summer event in 2021 (subject to change based on government COVID-19 guidelines). A contribution of $65 for the Plush Package features a 12-inch plush animal, four free tickets to the Animal Adoption summer event in 2021, and all the benefits of the Basic Package. Indecisive gift givers can choose a Basic Duo for $65 or a Plush Duo for $120, which gives the lucky recipient adoptions for both Ahava and Sasha.
In addition to Sasha and Ahava, several other animals are being featured this holiday season as a Basic or Plush package, including Brutus or Titus, 4-year-old African lions; Zeus, a bald eagle; Kecil or Kekasih, two of the zoo’s orangutans; and a two-toed sloth named Raisin.
For more information on package benefits as well as the complete list of animals available for adoption, visit CZS.org/AnimalAdoption or call (708) 688-8341. Or, if you are visiting the zoo, adoption packages may be purchased at the guest relations booth at either the north or south gates.
A gift message carrying your name can accompany the adoption package. To ensure holiday delivery, orders must be received by December 15, 2020. Special holiday packages are available through December 31, 2020, or while supplies last.
